Foetus

HEy readers!

Today on the LRT on the way back home, me and my fencing buds realised that there were tons of ex-BPPians on the train(them included). So it got me thinking... FOETUS!!!

Okay if you know me personally, you would know i find the word "foetus" extremely funny and i over abuse it quite often whenever i see a childhood picture of anyone, anywhere. Like how do you not find it funny i mean, COME ON --- FOETUS.

So yea the most practical use of the word foetus, in my opinion, is describing one's old pictures when they were still pre-pubescent little children. In other words... PRIMARY SCHOOL!!!

I was from West View Primary School located conveniently 2 LRT stops from my house which is actually a whole lot nearer compared to my current school i.e. BPGHS. I spent 6 years of my life there being a lazy-fat-sissy ass guy(seriously anyone from my year can tell you i was iconic for being the guy who loved waving his colourful checkered handkerchiefs around), but hey that was when i still didn't what the heck i was doing with my life!! I was in the ICT Club from primary 1-2 but then i dropped out and went to join English Club with a few of my really-good-friends (SHOUTOUT TO SIR NEHA AND THEODORA)and we sorta became the accidental mafia-bosses of the CCA for 4 years straight. I remember we had this very special corner in the library where the gang played scrabble and it was just non-stop laughing at retarded jokes that were just plain lame, but we still laughed until we couldn't breathe literally 95% of the time spent during English Club. OH and i was actually in Netball for a few months before i was forced to join the English Club by my English teacher, i remember when i tried to tell my friend Yi De that Secondary School had NO mixed-Netball he was so heartbroken and devastated. Haha i remember his face when i had to break the news to him, he was on the verge of tearing.

West View's school compound really isn't all that big, BUT outside the canteen area there was a huge snake n' ladder board painted on the ground *dental/oral hygiene remix* plus a whole walkway with portraits of the ex-presidents of Singapore! Cool stuff if you ask me.

West View has quite a number of really good teachers. The most memorable ones were of course my p5-p6 teachers whom i have yet to personally thank for helping me get my As! Before them, my language was utter bullcrap like i wouldn't even give a two cents hoot about writing a compo. But because of them, i continue to enjoy writing stuff(like this). My chinese teacher was from China so she spoke with a very thick accent but i guess that sorta helped me get my A. Looking back i also realised how much of a freaking suck-up i was. Literally, every word that i didn't understand i would raise my hand and she would have to explain to entire the class what it was. It’s good to ask questions but the thing is i asked too many self-explanatory ones which made me the class nerd of sorta. And i was actually 2nd-in-class just behind the Chinese girl who was from China! I remember one time i had chinese homework undone and she had English homework undone so we sorta made a secret deal whereby we would help each other do the others work and yea it worked out well haha. My English teacher was Miss Wee Soo Ting, and she is a very simple-minded old lady who speaks in posh English(much like Mrs Hoe in BPGHS). She was a motherly-figure to my mafia-boss gang and she pushed us till we got our eventual A*'s for English! One unique thing about her is that she is still wearing the same clothes she wore 4 years ago, I’m not even kidding i saw her in the same 3/4 length skirt and purple top like a few months ago at the CCK MRT Station

West View is the place where i made some close friends (clearly) and these epic bunch of people include the mafia-boss gang whose actual names are Sneha and Theodor haha. Others are people from my class 5-6 Glorious some of whom i still in contact today, because we are in the same class up to this day. One in particular is special because he's been my classmate for like 9 years -P1 to Sec4- and he is none other than the very-famous-and-somewhat-popular guy Lim Jia Wei hahahaha! OHhhhh man do i have stories about him, but for that you'll have to come see me because some of them can't be shared publicly for sensitive reason such as his face lmao. Another person who wins top honours for the same-class-as-me-for-a-long-time-award would be Aldren Chai who has been my classmate for 5 years!! I remember he was damn cocky because his p5/6 Science was ridiculously OP and he always topped the whole class.

Soo yea that was my life for about 6 years and who knows, maybe i'll write a blog post about my even more interesting Secondary School life once i graduate and go places.

Until then!

PS.

Bio Adventure!

HEy readers!

So today i went for a BIOLOGY ADVENTURE woo~!! My class and i took the magic public bus and went to explore the human body :DDD

Haha no.

We just went to the National Kidney Foundation for a Biology learning journey! This was actually very impromptu in a sense because i am not a Biology student. I only found out about this field trip today when a few of us non-bio kiddos stayed back in class during our free-period(a.k.a Biology). At first i didn't pay attention to what the teacher was saying regarding the trip until i realised everybody else in my class was either

a. Going for CCA
b. Going for the field trip

after school. And me being autophobic, thought of tagging along. Two people in my class were absent anyway, why not fill in the already-paid-for-vacancies and go for some fun?

A few of my friends accompanied me to ask Miss Lee(a bio teacher) if i could follow them and she was like "why not".

Once we reached the NKF building we were led into a lecture hall whereby a spokesperson told us about what NKF did and also the struggle many patients have to go through...aaand a whole load of biological terms that i really did not sign up for. Oh and also everybody kept asking me if i could understand anything bio-related and i-

FACT: KIDNEY FAILURE PATIENTS HAVE TO GO FOR THEIR DIALYSIS TREATMENT 3 TIMES A WEEK FOR 4 HOURS. THATS A TOTAL OF 12 HOURS OF SITTING DOWN WITH 2 HUGE NEEDLES STUCK INTO YOUR HAND.
NOT. VERY. FUN.

For some odd reason, i couldn't stop thinking about Hazel Grace from The Fault In Our Stars. Imagining her walking around day to day with a huge machine with tubes connecting her insides to it. Having sex with Augustus Waters with dangling tubes all over the place(:P). So with my feels from reading TFIOS and all the information about kidney failure patients combined, i sorta learned about the daily struggle that people like that have to go through, and also a new perspective of the whole TFIOS book. Because the entire time i was reading it, i pictured her walking about like a normal, ordinary person, but now the picture of her in my head has changed. And so has Augustus Waters, him being diagnosed with cancer just when his relationship with Hazel Grace was deepening. It makes me view the book so much more differently and also made it a whole lot more meaningful and touching than it already was, the way those two still managed to fall in love and do so many crazy things despite their condition, its epic i tell ya.

This trip was fun and all but i felt like i took away some seriously deep lessons from it. Oh and i also learnt [credits: 401'14 people] that Matthew Lim is probably one of the best chem teachers ever with his jokes lmao.

Also my class is coming up with a ViA to help raise funds for the Children's Cancer Foundation! So do come over and support us when 404'14 starts selling the stuff! I sincerely wish these cancer-stricken children all the best and to let them know that despite the cancer that stains them, you can still live life to the fullest and that we've got their backs!

Remember, its all for a greater cause!

#RPOTD 1

HEy readers!
So i was thinking of what to write about for my next blog post, and then it dawned on me. why not a POEM??!!
This idea is kinda inspired by my friend Theophilus! He has a blog where he writes cool poems and so i decided to try one today. So, here goes...

Songs of Salmon

Music majestic
Roar of trumpets
Have some crumpets
Chorus of angels
I like bagels
Voice of heaven
Seven eleven

Music melodic
Stirs the soul
Cereal bowl!
Heals the spirit
Crunchy biscuit
Calms the mind
Squeeze some lime

Music madness
Party crazy
Pass the gravy
Dance all night
Ahhh coke light
Get damn high
Yay apple pie!

Music is everywhere
And so is this scent
Is this...
A feast i sense?

That's it for my first poem ever! Hope you guys liked it haha :D

PDA

Public Display of Affection. Now i know this is a very sensitive topic HOWEVER, there are just some lines that people should never ever cross. I thought about this topic when i saw a girl slapping her man's ass while i was on the LRT back home from church, and it was just incredibly awkward like i couldn't even. The thirst emitting from those two made my throat go dry and i really wanted to pour water all over them just to quench them.

Here are a few types of PDAs and also how i feel about them

  1. The "oh are you alright? here have my jacket since its so cold"
Generally i feel this is the most nicest and best type of PDA because it is very genuine and most people who see this (i think) will feel all warm and fuzzy inside because its just too damn awww-ish. I personally feel this is the most ideal type of love that we should see evident in people today, one about caring for the other person and giving up things for them.

  2. The "aww bby i luv u!!11! u luv me? aww i luv u 2 muacks"
In my honest opinion whenever i see people talk like that it reminds me of AuditionSEA, whereby you see this almost everywhere(i admit i did take part in this mess before). AuditionSEA is a dancing game where one of the central mechanics of the game is the couple-system. So you see all sorts of cheesy-ass stuff even in their names, eg. ---xBLACK & ---xWHITE , ROMEOx3 & JULIETx3 , xHIS & xHERS. And also words like "dar", "bi" or "baby" flying all over the public chat boxes [I'M EVEN NOT KIDDING THIS DOES EXIST] I'm not saying its not right to do that, but you don't say that kinda stuff in public okay, just don't, its ridiculously awkward to everyone around you and it sounds plain childish and downright lame.

  3. The "oh haha just gonna randomly slap your ass cus i like dat"
NO. just NO. This literally happened just today on the lrt and i could not even fathom what was going on in the minds of those two lovebuckets. The moment they walked into the LRT all i could see was them holding each other as if they were going to participate in some romantic ball, hands wrapped around her back and hands wrapped around his waist. I was still fine with this UNTIL she started casually slapping his ass as if it was a drum and i was just secretly staring at them like

really just... stAHp. Their thirst needed to be quenched really badly and i bet everyone else was like "GET A ROOM DAMMIT."

Basically these are the 3 types of PDA in which i have seen in public for real and while some are kinda sweet, some are just downright nope. You can do whatever cheesy/romantic/sweet/loving/cute you want to each other behind closed doors it doesn't matter as its your own privacy and i believe everybody respects that. But the moment you do it PUBLICLY, shit is going to get down.

PS.
The next time i see PDA #3 happen idek what's going to happen anymore like what is life? I will never be the same.

First blog post ever!

Whoaaa so this is how it feels like to be blogging about your life, epic!! So after meddling with the layout/template theme configuration for like an hour i finally stuck with this simple one that didn't make my blog look like a complete mess :D

So, my first blog post... i guess i'll just talk about my life in 2013!

2013 began on quite an epic note because i was the class IC for a sec 1 class, woots!! The sec 1s were all so funny because they were like lost sheep that have been moved to a new home. Then after that i became an EXCO of the student council (ie. Head Of Liaison), i was actually chosen to be a candidate for the presidential elections, however i dropped out in the end because i thought the whole idea of running a campaign for power was just way too much to handle for me and i personally didn't like it.   But it was good, someone took my place in the elections and i eventually still became an EXCO.
Then after that, i was introduced to the disease known as AMATHS and all of its horrors, like from the first lesson i knew that it would be one subject i would develop an intense love-hate relationship with. Why love you ask? Because my teacher for AMaths is just the most animated teachers i have ever seen, plus he loves to spazz about anything math-related, it was the first time i saw such a grown-up fanboy and over math of all things. The hate part is obvious considering the fact that i hate math and science with a burning passion. So yea i sorta failed amath the whole year, i never exactly passed a single amath test since i first started sec 3 and frankly speaking it is an embarrassment since im in a class full of people talented in math and science. :S

Being an EXCO member, you get to plan events, so i just so happened to inherit the lovely job of planning for the council investiture that year. My seniors were the ICs for the whole event but after they stepped down (halfway through the planning and preparation) they sorta threw everything to us newbies who knew absolutely nothing about event planning whatsoever. I don't blame them because being sec 4 is hard BUT i was hoping to get more help than just "Here you go, B.Y.E". And as you probably have figured out by now, the invesiture was a complete wreck: Only one level got to see it, It was boring, It wasn't what everybody had in mind. Hopefully this year's won't be a trainwreck like last year's!!!
Over the course of the year i made a bunch of new friends and some of whom were people i never really knew i would become that close to back in lower sec. These wonderful people include York Tat, Jessmine and Jia Wen. I think it kinda started when me, York Tat and Jessmine were made to sit at the back of the class at the start of the semester and we kinda clicked very quickly, i mean, we formed a band called the Printed Melodies and just kept on jamming to catchy songs all day long! Jia Wen came into the picture because she was already very close to both of them so eventually it became the 4 of us! Wonder when our new single is gonna be officially released though.
After all the drama of end-of-year exams, it was finally time for the holidays and i had really no clue what the hell i was going to do for almost 2 months. I know a lot of my classmates were busy reading up on the sec 4 chapters(too early guys) so there was this pressure on me to actually read my textbooks. NO.NO.NO. I did read in the end though, well, by reading i meant The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay, The Fault In Our Stars, Have A Little Faith, Divergent and Looking For Alaska. hahaha. Also during the holidays i FINALLY updated my music playlist after 84 years of just plain old anime openings/ending themes, and also realised how great house and rock music can actually be like whoa. One thing that i could say made my holiday worthwhile was getting into youtube more often. I began to watch many British youtubers (ie. Zoe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, Marcus Butler, Joe Sugg, Jim Chapman, Tanya Burr, Jack and Finn Harries, Louis Cole) plus Caspar Lee, Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, Joey Graceffa, Sawyer Hartman and also Grace Helbig!!! These people really helped me to gain a whole new leash on life and new-found motivation to live my life to the fullest. What a way to end off 2013 eh?
I'm trying to do things differently this year thanks to them: I'm reading books, I actually look forward to PE lessons and playing sports with my classmates, I'm trying to be a lot nicer. But most important of all, I want to take the risk and live without and regret! One lesson i picked up over my youtube-d holiday was to do what you want to do, grab those opportunities that come your way and don't let them slip past you, don't be afraid to walk on the road less travelled, be dauntless.
SO i guess that concludes my first ever blog post, hoping to write at least one blog post every week just for fun!! 2014 is going to be one hell of an exciting year, i can FEEEEEL it :]
