Social Medi@

HEy readers!

Recently my life has been great! Though a bit busy i have to say it's not bad, just that i've been staying back in school for Physics SPA training to the point where it has been detrimental to my eyesight. And that is not good considering the fact that my father is a hardcore Anti-Spectacles protestor and i really don't want to get on his bad side regarding that :[

However one day my fencing junior (somebodee with the initials CM) came up to me and said "Hey warrick, nice tumblr you got there -datpedosmile-" and i freaking panicked.

Now the only thing going through my head is how my juniors are going to judge me for my tumblr, like if he knows then practically everybody else knows!! I have to admit my tumblr is kinda -ahem- BUT it is ACCEPTABLE. I don't know if you know this but tumblr is probably the only social media site that is not stomp-able, due to its random nature. I mean literally you could scroll down on your phone looking at beautiful scenic nature pictures and architecture and all of a sudden a porn gif pops out and just interrupts you and it will probably cause you to stare at it for like 5 seconds just to take it all in(THE SHOCK) then continue scrolling. Tumblr is that epic and that is probably why it is sort of taboo for those very "attas" aunties and uncles to get on tumblr. Anyway if any vigilante-ish adult finds out about tumblr they would probably freak out haha.

Social media in general is a place where people can be weird and not be judged by public eyes. Simply because the people who love to stomp other people(aka attas aunties and uncles) probably don't have a social networking account[besides facebook tho because that has officially been overrun and taken over by the adult world]. Except for a few of them who manage to break this barrier and make a twitter account with something clich
é like "@LeeHockLay64" or "@TanHaoHua68", or even "@lcl_81". This causes people to have dual personalities: an online one and an offline one. I know of people who are super quiet in real life and very insecure but online... WHOA. You see a completely different side of them and you sometimes question if they are even the same person or not. This is what social media provides, a safe haven for people to either be crazy or be who they truly are! Cool ain't it?

Speaking of facebook,it just reminded me of my embarrassing facebook phase which i believe most Singaporeans kid experienced back in the 2010 period before twitter was big. Omg was i a complete mess, just have a sneak peek:

yes this is a legit post from my 11-year-old self. Notice How I Typed Like This, I Don't Know It Just Felt Right Typing Like That I'm Sorry If It Annoyed Any Of You Guys Who Knew Me Back Then D:I tried changing my name to lame stuff like "Warrick Grassydudez" or "Warrick Jubeaterz", DONT JUDGE ME THAT WAS MY PAST YOU KNOW ME AND NOT MY STORY K. Oh! I also recall how i was crazy over pet society and i tried to make my pet look badass like this!! -->

Then after that twitter took over and hurricane messedupfoetusstage abated and there was perpetual peace in that aspect of my life. I (hopefully) became less lame and, fast forward 4 years i am here talking about how my life is ruined now that my junior knows my tumblr?!?! Also i forgot to mention that there are some people out there who i classify as "wallflower stalkers" who literally have only less than 10 tweets even after joining for a year. START TWEETING!!!!!

In short, social media -- it can either make people think you are WeIRD or like nORMal. Either way the internet still welcomes you with open arms because we are ultimately all like that :D
